You may have drawn some inspiration from our article last year featuring some of our best ideas for musically inspired costumes. Now we’re back with even more costume ideas but with a jammy twist. Check out our list of Halloween costumes inspired by our favorite jam bands.
The String Cheese Incident
We’ll start things off by getting a little cheesy. An obvious choice for SCI fans will be a cheese costume, a simple enough DIY project. Those who want to take it to the next level might opt for a jelly fish.
Next up we have the Grateful Dead. The sun comes up a lot in the Dead’s music so we’ll start with that. You can craft an easy sunshine disguise and have your “sunshine daydream” ready to go in less than 15 minutes. You can also combine these ideas for cat and sunflower to create a perfect chinacat sunflower ensemble.
Our favorite southern rock band who jams has also provided us with some Halloween costume ideas. Slap a heart on this tractor costume and you’ve got yourself a love tractor. Another simple combo would be a bird costume paired with a stethoscope to create an easy medicine bird.
We’ve got a lot of Umph Love over here so we couldn’t leave this band off the list. Make a reference to “Puppet String” with this puppet disguise. And while we’re not entirely sure what exactly a “Wappy Sprayberry” is we bet that a berry costume with an UM sticker on it will draw some laughs (and questions) while trick-or-treating.
Last but certainly not least, we have Phish. This band’s discography is chock full of references and themes perfect for kid-friendly costumes. A sloth or a cactus costume are just a few of the many available options this band has provided.
